It took the bystanders a long time to get a tourniquet on her leg.

I thought it was pretty quick. She just got to shoreline when people started yelling for belt. Poor woman looked to be in shock. Looks like a bathing suit string was already on her leg.

This should be a constant warning, with or without sharks.

I think we need to take back the coast line against these mfers. Going waist high should not result in loosing a leg.

They applied one just above her knee - and she was still losing blood. The gentleman on her left removed it and reapplied it closer to her pelvis. Which is good.

They did the best they could with what they had available and the skill set they had. That one guy who reapplied the tourniquet seemed somewhat proficient.

She had clearly lost a lot of blood and was certainly and understandably in shock. I hope she recovers well.

I don’t know why people are freaking out about this. Sharks are everywhere. I cannot even go surf fishing without catching one these days. They will not mess with you most of the time. You just gotta have eyes out.

I heard the new chief of police warned the mayor to shut down the beach. But because of all the tourist money brought in due to the 4th of July holiday, the mayor chose to ignore those warnings. The guy is a complete a-hole…
