Was it a back up of the lateral or the main line?

Regardless you should call the sewer dept. 99% they tell you your lateral is clogged (I'll bet its tree roots), but on the 1% off chance the main line is plugged, they should be responsible.

Haven’t had anything back up into bath tub, but did have a slow drain, 3-4 flushes to make anything go down… I put this stuff I got from Amazon in the tub called Liquid fire… it’s pretty much acid… drop in it, let it sit for 15 mins start running cold water… it will clear EVERYTHING

I had roots in mine. Got an estimate of $4500 from home 360. Thought that sounded right to replace the line from cleanout to sewer. Called another plumber and got a quote of $1500 for same scope. Locked in contract right there.

happened to me once. plumber ended up having to put a camera into the sewage line. The line crossed under the flower bed in the front of the house, and a shrub root had snuck into the line at a joint, grew big enough to clog everything up. they pulled the shrub, and cleaned the line at that location.
