re: Severe threat moving into East Texas/North Louisiana

Well that was an adventure. We landed in Dallas, and rerouted back through Fort Worth to get eyes on a severe storm that was approaching. We had a nice view, but I don’t do close quarters chasing in urban areas so we went south. It seems a tornado hit right where we were about 20-30 minutes later. Good call me! Closer to home, y’all have seen some decent storms in Sabine, Natchitoches, and northern Vernon Parish over the last hour or two. Then it looks like a few hours of a break from the loud stuff, followed by rain and storms returning around midnight until 6:00 AM. A severe threat will remain, but as I said earlier, limited instability should make this a more marginal threat, with isolated damaging wind our main potential. I’ll update again later this evening.

Those two tor warned storms have managed to stay just ahead of the front. That's allowed them to take advantage of the environment. Fortunately, the environment to the east of them (NW LA) has been under rain and clouds all day, so hopefully they weaken as they progress east. Or, the front finally catches up and they get absorbed into the line.

The southern storm approaching Tyler is warned for ping pong ball sized hail, too. Ans the severe warned storm that is crossing the state line near Many is, too.

That storm near Florien and Many is broadly rotating. It does have pretty good inflow right now, as seen by the precip kind of getting pulled in from the south. It doesn't look quite right at the moment, though.
