watching that silva herring fight. starting out seeing those slow punches, you're thinking herring is going to work him just depends on how long, then at the point where silva is on top of herring, you're thinking...oh that dude is fricked, and then he wins

If y'all wanna see a small MMA fighter fighting gigantic MMA fighters, search YouTube for "Minowaman".

He did many of those freak show fights for Pride Fighting in Japan.

And he fought legit guys who were much bigger than him and beat a lot of them.

He is only 5'9" and he also fought Giant Silvia and won:

Here he is with life-size cutouts if some of the guys he's fought:

Good call.

Minowaman (5'9" 190) beat Giant Silva.

That dude fought some killers back in the day.

I've seen Tyson knock someone out in person. You're correct. You're forgetting this is a fight. Tyson doesn't have a ground game or even a kicking game. If the rise of BJJ has taught anything is that you can negate size. I don't disagree that if Tyson connected it is probably lights out.

Tyson grew up in the streets beating the shite out of every older bigger bully that made fun of his lisp. With his strength advantage, there is no grappling move he wouldnt just bust right put of. He was biting people's ears off in the ring. I think he could do more than just box.

just watched that one...so giants can be beaten, but judging by the way their opponents keep their distance and wait, they know that if they get caught by them standing up, they're fricked.

that roll to get the legs was pretty awesome. silva couldn't get him in his mitts on the way to the legs, and once he got him on the ground it was over.

still the way he manhandled silva on the mat...that dude is crazy strong.

good point. i think the street fight would make great boxers lesser fighters, but with Tyson who the frick knows.

The thing about some of the huge guys who fought in MMA like Giant Silva is that they are some of the most uncoordinated people ever.

If someone like Shaq picked up MMA when he was younger it would be a whole different story fighting an athletic 7'1" 300 pounder like Shaq compared to some of these very uncoordinated giant MMA fighters.

what do you think I've been saying. i don't think they're idiots though...Tyson's skills would translate well to that type of fight. he's a brawler and a knockout artist. he only needs to land one hit and it's over.

I believe you mean yoshihiro takayama vs don frye

that was an awesome fight.

takayama is one hell of a tough guy despite not being a fighter and a Japanese pro wrestler.

herring at his peak was the toughest guy in pride despite not being the best fighter in my opinion. I enjoyed all three of his fights with nog.

fedor at his peak couldn't be beat.

the comment wasnt directed at you, just happened to be the post i clicked reply on...one of the few nits i have to pick with TD is the reply system...

Also Tyson was a lot more than a brawler. He was very technically sound and as others have said his most dangerous weapon was his speed, not his power....although clearly the man hit like a truck

I've seen 2 fights with silva just in the last 30 minutes and judging by the way both of his opponents approached the fight that they knew if he landed a blow or got his hands on them while he was standing up they were fricked.

since they're unskilled you'd think they would spend their training time focusing on reflexes and trimming themselves down. side stepping dives and rolls would probably make it harder to get to the legs. herring landed a million of those leg kicks and it would not have brought that guy to the mat if not for herring falling down and bringing silva down with him.

his highlights of evading punches is as impressive as his highlights of knocking motherfrickers out

not as fun though

and he was so close, he would not move back to dodge, he moved up and down and swung his head and/or body side to side.

you can see his opponents just panicking when he would just move in.

but Tyson's work after he left his trainers and post prison release have made people forget that he was a lot more than a brawler.

Norris was outclassed by Lee. Which is no shame, so was everyone else.

Um, in what? Since Lee never competed in anything? You know this how?

For instance. I'm going to pick Jordan over the best street dazzling basketball player bc he actually has championships.

Exactly.

I appreciate what he did for the Martial arts but he wasn't a world class practitioner.

Tyson would kill him
