Lee kills him.

Literally. Bruce Lee is easily one of the most dangerous men to ever walk this planet.

People on this board will always site no tournament record. If they study the guy in depth they'd see otherwise. Lee had too many weapons at his disposal. Tyson had no fear and knock out power. Lee wins 99 out of 100 times.

I think bruce lee was probably a bad motherfricker, I don't know enough about him, but that's a legitimate knock, no?

Tyson would have 3 inches and 50 lbs on him, and he hit hard and fast. as bulky as he was he punched above his weight. he also moved his head and swung his body super fast especially for a guy that size. Tyson was lightning quick offensively and defensively. he knocked out his first 19 opponents, 12 in the first round.

again, I don't know really anything about bruce lee, but it is hard to imagine a scenario where lee wouldn't end up on a stretcher. his punches were so hard the shock of it would cause good fighters to momentarily drop their hands and that's when he would hit guys with the uppercut

and nobody can take that punch without going down.

even if you did hit him, Tyson could take a punch. bottom line, if you expose yourself to one clean hit from the guy, it was lights out.

I've seen Tyson knock someone out in person. You're correct. You're forgetting this is a fight. Tyson doesn't have a ground game or even a kicking game. If the rise of BJJ has taught anything is that you can negate size. I don't disagree that if Tyson connected it is probably lights out.

Can't believe this thread has been bumped.

As for the question at hand, Tyson would kill Lee. It would be short, extraordinarily violent and brutal, and when it was over Lee would be dead, dying, or left with massive brain damage.

my thing about lee isn't fighting skill. that he didn't fight professionally means I don't know if he can take a punch. it's an often quoted line but it's true "everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth"

I don't know that lee can take a punch from a good fighter let alone from a guy like Tyson and keep his focus and composure. bruce lee was fast, so was Tyson. if you think one shot from Tyson likely ends it then IMO that's it. Tyson would land blows. the combination of speed and power is jaw dropping even to someone who has never seen a punch thrown.

The people saying Lee would beat Tyson are the same idiots saying Rhonda Rousey could whip most men. It's unfortunate that unlike with the Rousey scenario we won't get to see them all proven wrong.

Let me start over. I am looking at this as a bare knuckle any fighting style fight. All you need to do is look at the Ali vs Inoki fight. Ali doesn't even throw 10 punches and Inoki gets on his back and kicks low. Lee was a very cerebral fighter. Even if someone disagrees with me, they should agree that he was smart enough not to try and box with Tyson.

I can't take this seriously.

a lot of guys hit hard, what separated Tyson from everyone else was his speed. that's why he had so many first round and early round knockouts. if you threw a punch and missed (and he was hard to hit even with his aggressive style) he was going to land a full power blow. shite, even if you did hit him, it didn't slow him down. he could take a fricking beating.

I just re-read the first couple of pages. I honestly can't believe how many people think Bruce Lee would beat Mike Tyson. Blows my mind.

I would bet that most who say Lee wins are closer in stature to Lee than Tyson. It is how they make themselves feel better.

It's madness. I don't understand how a functioning adult can come to that conclusion.

Yeah it's crazy lol

It's making me laugh

Not enough to jump on the Bruce lee bandwagon.

He was an awesome teacher and saw a weakness in the Kung fu that he was taught and implemented other techniques to come up with his own teaching philosophy. He was also a showman, salesman, and actor but a fighter like a Mike Tyson he wasn't.

but that's the thing, Tyson defensively was lightning quick and hard to hit.

he's going to duck a kick, he was so aggressive, he just constantly closed ground and guys couldn't hit him and keep him away because he was so fast. that wasn't the case in later years where he pretty much went out there swinging like he was fighting in an alley.

Thinking Bruce Lee is a better fighter than Mike Tyson, is like saying John Wayne is a better cowboy than Wyatt Earp.
