Doing manual labor all your life requires your body to stay strong. You use your muscles daily. Pain comes with old age. Even for the strong. But the strong will keep doing things until they die.

I tried outside sales for awhile. The money was fine but I got tired of motels and it was killing my body. I was 45 when I started after having worked physically until then. Both my shoulders froze within a year and a half. I'd never heard of a frozen shoulder. Did rehab with the first one and learned the exercises and stretches and did it myself on the other one. I went back to physical work and have never stopped.

I would think smoking crack is less healthy than an office job but idk.

Does your body just adapt and adjust even in getting older?

I think this is it, for the most part. Obviously, each person is different, but I think that if you’re conditioned to do a certain type of work, you can continue it for a long time if you’re general health allows it.

I agree. im a soft hands engineer and when I see these welders and fitters working nights and weekends, traveling to the next turnaround, getting shite on by the customer, I have so much respect for them. Then I remember that theyre trying to frick me somehow and dont feel so bad

Trying? They frick your eyes out daily you just don't know it. They get me too.
