I have a camp with a treatment system (air pumped into it). Buddy two camps down has same thing. His started backing up and we were a bit baffled as it was installed about 6/7 years ago and no theoretical need for pumping. Ended up the surrounding cypress trees shot a few feeder roots into the crack between the top and tank. He pulled the top off and it had huge root balls growing in it.

If you don't know, get it inspected.

I have mine under a service plan, $12 a month. I get custom bacteria monthly to add that puts Ridx to shame, inspection every three years.

When we had it inspected the first time, it was close to full. They pumped it out and added like 70lbs of bacteria. Maybe $250 bucks.

This may be the theory, but I don't know anyone who hasn't had some kind of trouble within 10-15 years.

I know in Louisiana the water table is a lot higher and you may be dealing with engineered systems. Here in North Alabama there are countless number of tanks that have gone 30 years without any kind of maintenance.
