I guess I’m OT poor but I’d at least list it and field offers for a week. On a $40k+ vehicle you may be looking at $3-5k higher private party.

Yeah the higher the price the higher the possible margins, but then you've got to find someone with 50 grand in liquid assets and deal with all that too.

Now if you like doing all that stuff and have free time, easy answer.

But if your time is a premium I'd prefer someone else deal with the headaches and possible red tape

In LA does the tax savings apply to both new and used cars? In Ohio, I believe it only applies if you buy new.

Just throwing that out there.

I did the dealer trade option on what we are thinking of buying and the trade-in was $41,250 and up depending on what model I picked.

No, you couldn't be more wrong. The dealership matched the Carmax offer exactly to the dollar due to then having a deal/partnership with each other. Just trying to br helpful. Thank you for doing your best, but do better next time.

Not sure of your tax rate, but that's pretty good trade-in.

You may net only a grand or two more selling PP, but you'll have to deal with a few half-wits.

However, clean, one'owner, no-story trucks are extremely rare in the used marketplace..

Id put on FB marketplace for $47K FIRM.
That will weed some of the losers, and very likely, the first guy that shows up will buy it.

Most of what's on FB is trash,, so your gem will stand out.
