Yes, I understand. I was not implying that aspirin is a cure. I personally feel that aspirin has some (may have some) preventive power.
Ii is my understanding that the two drugs you mentioned don't actually slow the progression of Alzheimer's , but treat the symptoms of the disease.

My Mom had Alzheimer. She also fought cancer and heart failure. A team of doctors sat down with us and flat out told us it would be best not to treat the cancer anymore and to just make her as comfortable as they could. She was 84 when she passed and didn't know her kids anymore.

My grandmother currently has Alzheimer's and her 4 sisters have died of it. I was close to one that died within the last few years and it was very sad to see. My grandmother is in her late 80s and in pretty good health besides that. She is now becoming aware of her Alzheimer's and what it is doing to her. It's incredibly sad to hear her describe the feeling of not knowing recognizing her great grandchildren or prominent events her life.

My granddad had Alzheimer's. He was diagnosed with a brain aneurysm early in his Alzheimer's, while he still mostly had his mind, and he made the choice to leave it untreated. A few years later, after he was pretty bad off but not yet an invalid, it burst and he died. I've always thought that he was super lucky to have that aneurysm and made a good call, as fricked up as that sounds.

Here is another. This one describes how it THC competitively inhibits the enzyme that breaks down acetylcholine (acetylcholinesterase) and prevents beta-amyloid plaques. Further, this study showed that it worked better than 2 of the leading FDA approved Alzheimer's treatment. Big pharma, folks.

Also people who use hypnotics and/or anxiolytics habitually (ambien/lorazepam/alprazolam/Xanax/Valium/clonazepam/etc) have a 50% greater chance of development later in life.
