Just bought 3 different helmets in 2 sizes each to try on backcountry

Called and made sure I could return 5 of them and they said no problem.

I did the same... ended up with the Smith Variance. I felt like Cartman in the Special Olympics with the others I tried on.

Hows the season for everyone so far?

I've only had 1 really good powder day but hopefully Colorado gets more snow this spring.

I haven't made it to Vail yet this year, I only get 10 days at Vail/Beaver Creek so I'm saving the for better days.

Snow outlook looks promising for the next 2 weeks though so we can hope for the best

ran over some 8 year old kid in Vail because of this. fricker stopped in the middle of a blue that I was making my way down. I was coming off the ridge and bam he was right there. Since he was right there and I had no time to react I had to wipe out on purpose to avoid hitting him at full speed but I still knocked his arse over like a bowling ball in my skid. Kid started bawling and of course his parents got all pissed off at me and acted like I was purposely trying to kill him.

You, sir, are a fricking moron. You are responsible for the downhill skier and coming over a ridge is no exception. Slow the frick down if you can not see what's ahead of you. You just posted that you almost murdered some kid and were incensed that the parents were angry with you. frick you. You deserved to have your arse beaten.

That being said, not stopping beyond a ridge or in a place with poor visibility is really good advice, because there are idiots out there like this frickface. But people fall, and people (especially kids) stop in stupid places, which is why you have to be careful.

Haha, no one feels bad about dead snowboarders, which is why I said kids.

Problem is when a snowboarder dies 5 more take his place. They are a disease

We have 3 boarders in our group in park city right now. I'm very leery to say the least.

From the tone of the OP, I assumed you were a local. Not a tourist.

Their numbers really do seem to be diminishing though... they weren't too bad last week. Maybe because it was so gotdamn cold.

I got tickets to the Avalanche game (on the ice!) so I am not gonna be up there until Sunday.

If we go to breck I'll post some vids from the horseshoe bowl.

Keystone was fun today. Just enough snow to soften everything up a bit.

Day 47 on the slopes for the season.
