The drug, as well as a placebo, was given to 20 healthy volunteers with previous experience taking psychedelics. Their brains were then imaged inside an fMRI scanner to visualize their brain activity. "Under normal conditions, information from our eyes is processed in a part of the brain at the back of the head called the visual cortex," the researchers said in a statement.
"However, when the volunteers took LSD, many additional brain areas -- not just the visual cortex -- contributed to visual processing."
Images of the brain under a hallucinogenic state showed almost the entire organ lit up with activity.

I guess the walls weren't really "breathing" those times.

Even the images look psychedelic.
Sure glad I took those 250 trips.

I was reading an article about this earlier. They came to the conclusion that while on LSD the brain resembles that of a young child without barriers. As we age our brain compartmentalizes and limits things to certain areas. Pretty interesting stuff imo.

This will never be legalized no matter what advancements we make to eradicate negative side effects, even at 100%.
They DO NOT want the people unplugging out of the system.
Check out some you tube videos of army experiments in 60 years ago & you'll see another reason why.

The lower part of the article discusses possible beneficial uses of LSD and how scientist are "rethinking". LSD scientist "rethinking". Suspicious?

"Hallucinogen/LSD", Paul Oakenfold mix
That was a cool song you linked....
Check this one out...if you can't dig the rhythm on this one, there are a couple remixes of the song that are nice too
Add: (TL;DL)-- intro
""I believe with the advent of acid, we discovered new ways to think,
and it has to do with piecing together new thoughts of mind. Why is it that people are so afraid of it ? What is it about it that scares people so deeply?
Because they are afraid that there is more to reality than they have ever confronted. That there are doors
that they are afraid to go in and they don't want us to go in there either
because if we go in, there we might learn something that they don't know.
And that makes us a little out of their control"

Right now the big thing is Ayahuasca. It's proven to vastly improve people with PTSD, anxiety, and depression. If LSD proves to have the same benefits then it should be legalized for clinical purposes rather than having Vets deal with shady arse people in the jungles of Peru. This is pure fantasy though because the drug companies are making a killing off antidepressants, and they'll stop at nothing to keep the gravey train chugging along.

How pissed off would you be if you got the placebo?

Looks like a lot of fun. I'm glad a new generation is now being allowed to do research with psychedelics. In the right dosages, settings and with good intent they have the potential to be very healing psychological and spiritual agents.

Plus magic mushrooms are just plain fun.

Someone once made an analogy to me to understand the difference between shrooms & LSD:
"LSD is like driving a finely tuned sports car, while shrooms is like riding on a chariot full of wild horses"

Google "Phish summer tour". Pick a city of your liking from search of "Phish summer tour". Go there and mingle on Shakedown street and you'll find what you seek!

This need not be done haphazardly. Psychedelics have been used by countless cultures throughout history, seeking wisdom, visions, spiritual guidance, etc.
The last thing they need is to let people too immature to know what the objective is that may disrupt whatever positive gains that could be made. I agree, research shows it's been proven for many to be a great help. Let's keep it that way.
