Gee Grenouille- Are you still living in Bogalusa or did you leave?

I don't think I'll truly ever leave, I have a camp there and won't be moving too far.

I figured from your posts that you were reluctant to leave.
I grew up in New Orleans but moved to Washington Parish (Angie) for several years and have lived in Bogalusa for the last several years.
I assume you are deeply rooted here. I was just curious about your take on the condition of this area and it's future with the infighting of the local leaders and politicians. When I was a young boy in the early 70's my family would come to visit relatives and this was still a bustling community of over 20,000 people and to witness the crumbling and mass exodus of people now less than 12,000 is truly frustrating.

In the short term I'd consider improving the housing in the north border drive and Louisiana drive areas, all the way through the lake streets to Rio Grande rd. That would allow for a decent quality of life with the city center being where the new club car lounge is. There are several places to eat and drink in that area and would be within walking or biking distance for most people. I don't think anyone in town has a vision for that.
