To be fair to them, it’s not you have to have the contract signed before they come out. It’s you have to have a signed contract with them before they meet with your adjuster.

They’re actually ‘ambulance chasers’. I was not aware that we had a hail storm, but the sales guy knocked on the door asking if I had hail damage and offered to go up and look. We went on the roof, showed me the hail damage and that’s when it gets awkward.

They want to make it easy on the customer to the point where they call the insurance company on your behalf. ‘All you have to do is pay your deductible.’ In my opinion this is where they get slimy because they will do the job for whatever the adjuster is willing to pay not what they think the job should cost and as mentioned before it’s replacement in kind. To upgrade the vents or shingles I would have to pay extra.

I told the sales guy that he had a 95% probability of getting sole sourced if he was present to speak with the adjuster and 0% chance if he wasn’t but I wasn’t signing a contract until the adjuster came. He chose the latter so V&V got the next call.
