no it was a 4 day increase of 299.

August 6th (through August 5th) was 2,578
August 9th (through August 8th) was 2,720.

That's 3 days worth of reporting, an increase 142, or 47 a day.

Imagine trying to be condescending when you apparently can't even count to 3.

It occurred over a period of 4 days, but to find the average growth you divide by 3

August 5th- 2,421
August 6th-2,578
August 7th-2,573
August 8TH -2,720

Over that 4 days period, hospitalizations grew on average by 99 a day

We mostly agree but you are mixing up your reporting date and valid through dates in your configuration.

Pretty sure he took issue with your grossly exaggerated daily rate, not any specific number of cases

No I am not. Your number of "increase of 47 a day average" simply is incorrect

We averaged 99 a day increase over the last two reporting dates by the LDH

im sorry pride but im not incorrect.

August 6th (through August 5th) - 2,421
August 7th (through August 6th) - 2,578
August 8th (through August 7th) - 2,573
August 9th (through August 8th) - 2,720

3 day average: (2,720 - 2,578)/3 = 47
4 day average (which is what you are attempting to report): (2,720-2,421)/4 = 75

Dude, no

This would be the equivalent of saying

Aug 5th-1000
Aug 6th-2000

Increase average of 500

i really dont know what else to say. every day they give daily updates. yes its on a day lag but that really doesnt matter. when they skip two days the next update will cover 3 days, regardless of reporting lag. i probably am bigly wrong and will just take the L. maybe i need some coffee.

Ill walk you through it

2,421 to 2578 is an increase of 157

2578 to 2573 is a decrease of 5

2573 to 2720 is an increase of 147

You add those 3 numbers up and divide by THREE to get the average increase from those 4 days for an average of 99

Three day average

2578 to 2573 is a decrease of 5

2573 to 2720 is an increase of 147

The average increase per day over that period is 76
