Yeah, I agree, there is no way he would show up in here. It would be the best though.

All you need to say is that SE LA has a large and distinct Italian population.

Italians have vowels in the names. Looks more like French.

French: habitational name from any of the places so called, named from a religious dedication to St. Cyrus. It is a secondary surname associated with the primary names Deshaies and Rouillard.

Looks like you French Cajuns gotta claim this one.

Not being a Catholic, I don't know my Saints too well. Was Saint Cyrus the patron saint of try-hards, douchebags or perpetual losers?

french and cajun are two different things...

a few exiles that traveled with the acadians from nova scotia(cajuns) were a few italians and germans. French came straight from france... key point here.... If it is a bastardized French surname = cajun and if it has an X at the end it's cajun - not French.

Cajuns who come to New Orleans usually have the bad habit of adopting Italian urban norms.

My dad’s family migrated from Europe to S Louisiana and he’s Cajun AF. He didn’t speak English or have shoes until he started school. He never spoke French, he spoke Cajun-French.

Old Belgium, way back when Acadiana was settled. Generations grew up on a rice farm in Abbeville and spoke Cajun French. His teachers sure persecuted him like he was a dumb Cajun boy.

Many if not most Acadians migrated back to France before coming to Louisiana, albeit briefly.

Think about what you just said... of course he spoke cajun french if he was born in raised in acadiana. But the true definition of a cajun is those that were exiled from nova scotia and their lineages...
