Everyone hold their noses for a while. Bunch of overweight blue-haired women will be protesting this and you can smell the stench from miles away

Inflation roaring out of control, we’ve printed about all we can for the foreseeable future, and a global recession is unfolding.

Sounds like a great time to make a shitload of fiscal liabilities through the courts.

People are going to be really outraged for a couple of weeks and then they'll move on to the "next thing" to be outraged about.

ETA: Kavanaugh's concurrence sums it up nicely:

quote:

On the question of abortion, the Constitution is therefore neither pro-life nor pro-choice. The Constitution is neutral and leaves the issue for the people and their elected representatives to resolve through the democratic process in the States or Congress—like the numerous other difficult questions of American social and economic policy that the Constitution does not address.

quote:

To be clear, then, the Court’s decision today does not outlaw abortion throughout the United States. On the contrary, the Court’s decision properly leaves the question of abortion for the people and their elected representatives in the democratic process. Through that democratic process, the people and their representatives may decide to allow or limit abortion.

The "Overturning Roe will galvanize democrats for the midterms." is such a tired meme. Abortion, especially in recent years, is such a fringe issue for democrats voters except the blue hair lunatics that you'll see on TV for the next couple of days.

This.

The liberals have gone too progressive too fast and alienated a large portion of their base. Couple that with the vegetables policies, and folks won’t remember by the time gas hits $7 a gallon in August.
