To accept this NY Democrat as a Republican, you have to suspend a lot of values. He's the trojan horse.

You just said values don't matter. The atheist, being an atheist, doesn't believe in your God, your religion, and probably thinks you're an idiot for submitting to a fairy tale. But he sure has great policies! You're going to vote for him?

Ya lost. Don't even bother responding.

Your beliefs and values are intertwined, you cant separate them. If you do, it causes cognitive dissonance.

False. An atheist can believe that it's wrong to have an abortion, or that assisstance from the government is only meant for citizens, or that taxes should be lower, or that we should have a strong military, etc. There are atheists who are great people and religious people who are horrible people. Does one path tend to guide you towards certain values more than the other? I would have to say yes, but that doesn't mean it's impossible.

The rest was your attempt to explain away reality.

quote:

Cognitive dissonance is a psychological phenomenon that occurs when an individual experiences discomfort due to holding two or more contradictory beliefs, values, or attitudes. This discomfort often arises when one's actions conflict with their beliefs, leading to feelings of guilt, shame, or unease.

You think that someone can't be for lower taxes, or oil production, or whatever if they don't believe in a god, specifically the one I believe in?

I guess unless they go to the same church as I do they are out too?

Riddle me this then, how can Joe Biden be a catholic and be for abortion?

Youre really reaching here. You'll have to detach arms to make it work.

Is he going to push through policy forcing me to be an atheist? If not then I could give a frick what his religion or non religion is. Do I agree with the majority of his platform? If yes then I would vote for that person. It’s called not being a single issue voter like lib women and abortion.

Roger I’ve never had an issue with you but I know people just like I know you know people that are religious and are pro choice and people that aren’t religious and are anti abortion. The two do not have to coexist together.

Please detail how one's views on DEF fluid and EPA regulations are influenced by their belief in a god, and any god will do. Be specific.

Obviously, their values reflect that. Many denominations have different values.

Joe Biden claims to be Catholic and for abortion. Please relate how his beliefs shaped his values. Thanks.

Youre assigning values to people that you're clueless as to their value system.

Unless youre clairvoyant. Lots of OTers pretend to be these days.
