Wait until you reach 69. You will know you are in the last decade to decade and a half of your life.

I’m burying my dad today.

My Dad died when I was 9 years old, it was the 12,856th day of his life. Coincidentally, today marks the 54th anniversary of his death. I still miss him. I have a hard time being emotional about the fact that my kids never got to meet him.
A few coincidental dates, my oldest child (a daughter, I have two) was born 6 days before what would have been his 48th birthday, and my youngest son (I also have two sons), who is named after my father, was born 2 days before what would have been his 63rd birthday. My oldest son was born two days after the 54th anniversary of my dad's untimely death.
These are words of profound advice, and not just for family but especially for them. No one is guaranteed their next breath, you never know how much time you have to heal those wounds. You should always endeavor to do so, for your sake and the sake of others.

If you still have your dad, reach out to him & especially if you still have time to heal a real or imagined insult; do it.
