OUACHITA PARISH, La. (KNOE) - Family members have identified the body found Tuesday afternoon in Ouachita Parish as 27-year-old Oterrius "Chuckie" Alexander.
Deputies found Chuckie's body in a ditch adjacent to Jackson St. and south of University Health Conway Hospital around 4:30 p.m. His cousins, Deshawn Payne and Robterrius Alexander, both say Chuckie's death is a hard pill to swallow.
"Everybody loved Chuckie," Payne said. "I don't think anyone would have done anything to him."
Payne says Chuckie has an aunt who lives close to the area where deputies found his body.
Robterrius says Chuckie was always the life of the party. He says their family is begging for answers on what lead to his death.
"That is what kills us the most," Robterrius said. "Some say he got shot; others say he was run over. It's all type of stories right now."
Both cousins say Chuckie would have given anyone the shirt off of his back without thinking twice about it. They say a lot of people in the community did not know the struggles Chuckie was facing.
"That's what a lot of people don't know. He was out here alone," Payne said. "Chuckie was staying in [abandoned houses]. My cousin was going through it."
They say he always kept a smile on his face though. Robterrius says Chuckie has at least one daughter who he is leaving behind.
