You might be surprised but some of the brands you think of for sunglasses like Nike, Oakley, and as previously mentioned, Ray-Ban, actually make really nice glasses.

Bought a pair of Oakley glasses recently and now wear glasses much more than I used to in order to give my eyes a bit of rest from contacts.

There is a fine line between hipster and professional now

I think as long as you have minimal frame and lense size you should be ok. Nothing obnoxiously large or flamboyant. In which case, if you don't dress like a hipster you won't look like one

If it looks good with a suit you should be fine

I wear paul smith woodley 1188, expensive as shite but I have a particular lense size I like, I prefer smaller less rounded lenses

just waltz in to your local eyeglass joynt

and see what they got!

keep in mind, there's a premuim service for HD lenses

and similar, but marketed under different trade names

I believe the upcharge is in the 250.00 range not counting specials

plan on 650-950 out the door

anti reflective coatings are nice

polarize are nice

brown or grey lenses that lighten or darken as needed

These totally suck. I have a pair and hate them.

They don't work in the car because the car windows already filter the rays that darken

They take forever to lighten when you go inside, so you look like a dufous in restaurants or business meetings.

I can't think of a bigger waste of money for someone who rarely wears glasses

Someone who rarely wears glasses should easily walk out of the store spending under $400
