He has sat behind us in Tiger stadium for years. He is a good dude and his dedication to his lifting is impressive.

Arnold came out recently in favor of testing for shows and I’d imagine they may implement it for the Arnold Classic (second only to the biggest show professional show, Mr Olympia). It may be headed that direction since he’s such a big influence in the sport (he criticized the guy’s with guts hanging out and Phil surprisingly didn’t win this past year, maybe somewhat correlated).

That is what entries in bodybuilding competitions look like these days? That's weak. 25 years ago, that wouldn't make it to the stage in a "Never Even Took A Supplement" event. Old guy is just in for the attention. As for the other 2, this has to be the first time they've tried this. I hope they have their excuses ready.

Well, not when I posted my reply to the OP. I scanned thru them just now. Still not sure what you're getting at. Are you saying that they ARE on "supplements". If so, I will repeat my opinion....Things have certainly changed in 25 years. As us old guys say, "Back in my day" those guys would not be considered bodybuilders. Regardless of whether they are natural or not, they are no where near cut enough for a couple days before competition. (I'm not talking about the old guy in the middle)

Even Arnold used PEDs. The issue is not the use of drugs, it’s the overuse of them. Back in Arnold’s day, that was the physique that everyone wanted. Big, broad chest, chiseled back, big strong legs and shredded waist. Somewhere along the way, it turned into an arms race. It was all about who can put on the most mass. How big can you get. Lifters started abusing HGH which lead to this problem of bubble guts and terrible proportions in some competitors. Their conditioning was shite and they didn’t have an aesthetic appeal anymore. It’s starting to reverse. Too many guys are getting fricked up over the drug use and it’s not fun to look at a guy who packed on a load of muscle, but looks like freak.

I agree. The current era started with Dorian Yates and went from there.. it’s concerning that several young bodybuilders have died recently. Dallas McCarver died at just 26 last year
