Maybe not 20 years ago.... more like 30 or 40, but tailgating wasn't a shite show. Only people going to the game tailgated. Parking was far easier. The north BR crowd didn't show up at all. It was much nicer.

There was a Pedro's Taco on Highland across from Der Weinerschnitzel (or thereabouts).
Round the Corner was really good. I remember trying the Hawaiian burger just because it was so weird and liking it a lot.
Magoo's, the Library, Old Louie's and the Gumbo Shoppe were all in that area.
But that was before the 20 year time frame...

In the 70's at The Pastime, Sid Crocker and some of the other newscasters from channel 2 or 9 would show up to toss down a few drinks before their 10 PM news show.
