You do realize this is just a red / green light on a timer with a pick up in the cement. Not like this is some million dollar piece of hardware.

You realize the city spent 2 million dollars on this right?

Walker and Juban have them and traffic is never a problem there besides the cars being backed up due to the lights. Then they fail to turn off when traffic backs down the road. Then you get to BR and the areas that need them to be turned on are never on.

Let us pray that they will be timed and maintained properly

18-wheelers usually make metered ramps cluster fricks due to their slow speed up times

I'm glad the city spent money on these meters.

Meh, I didn't find them particularly effective in BR, and I highly doubt they're going to do anything for the congestion around the convention center on ramp. I can't wait to see if people even notice them turned on this afternoon. If they want people to use them, they're going to need police enforcing it for the next few days. And we know they don't really have the man power for that.

ETA: They may totally be working in BR now. This was juts my initial experience for the first couple months they were turned on there.

I think they work well in BR. i get on 12w everyday at airline, and its been a lot better since

the only one thats been worse is getting on 12w at millerville, because you had to defer to those coming from millerville south onto i12. but now that the new ramp opened this morning and they dont have to use the circle, that should be better

Well that's good to hear. I hope they help here in NOLA. Getting on the Expressway everyday is a wild ride
