I love my Tundra but if I was in the market I’d look at Ram. I don’t need a tailgate like this but it’s not a bad idea.

It absolutely opens wide enough for a forklift
I didn't say it didn't. I said it would be more difficult than a standard tailgate.
Were you on the design team for this? You're way too defensive over these critiques.

Why would you want that big split right down the center of your tailgate?
What is pic 2 even trying to show off?

I've owned trucks for almost my entire 26 years of driving and never have I thought to myself that I wish that I could open the tailgate sideways.
I am almost 50. I didn’t know I was superhuman. But I can load my truck and step up on the tailgate. Dodge and GM
Think we are all invalids

Pride bought a couple of sacks of feed and is ready to upgrade to a truck that opens up like a Mini Cooper in the back

I've bookmarked this thread because I'm going to look back 10 years from now and have me a chuckle.

You posted a pic of a Honda towing something a couple thousand pounds more than it can? Is that why it’s parked in a parking lot? I don’t get it

Buying cat litter in bulk will change a man.

It does everything a standard tailgate can do, and gives other functionality as well
It’s the same as when people originally made fun of backup cameras, tailgate steps, etc etc
I just don’t get it

It's just odd that you're so vested in this. So much so that you ran to the OB to seek affirmation (with the same results)

I have never thought about a split tailgate before to be honest until this thread
But when I saw it I immediately thought this makes sense
I truly have no idea how one doesn’t see the use for it. It’s honestly perplexing to me. I thought the OB would be interested in it as we always post new truck stuff there

Their's is different, but I have no doubt it will be used as frequently as Ford's
