Generals is a southerners wet dream. Confederate flags everywhere and all around racism. It's a decent place with hot bitches though and free peanuts

Yep enjoyed it.

It seems like everyone seemed to get fired up quickly, like Athens for Everyone and that student Adam Veale.
quote:

Students and Athenians alike do not see it this way. The organization Athens for Everyone released a statement Thursday about the alleged menu item.

"We urge the owners of General Beauregard's to do the right thing and shut their doors for good," according to the Athens for Everyone Facebook page. "We also urge the community and our local leaders to examine how we can create a more inclusive and welcoming environment for all people in Athens."

Veale said he agrees with Denson.

A quick google search on Adam Veale led to this page on the same website: UGA student facing judiciary hearing after Capitol protest arrest
quote:

Veale and four other people from the nonprofit group Athens for Everyone traveled to Atlanta as a part of the “Moral Monday” protests on March 2.

Glad they found another disinterested party to comment. I hope he agrees considering they both are part of Athens for Everyone.

We'll see if this passes like the Lighthouse thing.

I doubt the owner put that down but he's the one that will be held responsible. Smart move to take the twitter and facebook down. It gets them ahead of the PR hit and doesn't give people a place to vent and keep getting angry when post/tweet.

No, it's not "Athens for Everyone". It's "Athens for all the people that share our exact view of the way the world should look. Everyone else can get the frick out".

I think it was General Beauregards that I had this sweet tea drink that was awesome last time LSU played there.

A couple of thoughts.

First, did they have a barren ding sheet with this on it? I'd think so. They aren't advertising it. Their customers are asking for it.

Second, Generals does have a pretty bad reputation from minorities in Athens. When we were in college, if you wanted to ditch someone who wasn't white college aged kid, you got in the line to generals.

Probably was. Dixie tea is their specialty. It's awesome

Yep! that's what they called it. It was delicious. I went to a lot of bars in Athens that weekend and General Beuregard's was definitely one of my favorites I went to. It would be a shame if it actually shut down for good.

It isn't shutting down. I don't know why people keep saying this?

I was thinking it could have been the -gga version.

I mean, that would be okay wouldn't it?

-gga >>>>>> -ger, right?

So just a random student they interviewed, showing of course that even the average student on the street agrees with their opinion.
