I saw it running south near Shreveport early yesterday. Looks like a case to me where the outflow (colder, denser rain cooled air) pushed in front of the storms. It acts as a wedge, lifting the warmer air in front and BOOM.
Summertime complexes that dive south toward the Gulf are typically shitkickers.

I checked my weather app around 3 yesterday and it showed a 40% chance of rain around 4 and that was it.
Found the problem.

it got extremely ugly north of Houston too. 60+ mph winds, hail, lightening. we lost power.

A June several years ago saw a south diving line north of me. It had 88mph sustained as it crossed the TN state line and dickered some shite across a wide area. Multiple big rigs were flipped and trees down everywhere. Fortunately it started to weaken as it got closer to me. We just had some gusts to 40ish mph. I had been to a funeral earlier that day, and was damn happy that didn't hit during it. We had a couple errands after the funeral, and only beat it home by about 15 minutes.

Global warming is real. More spontaneous and rougher storms.
It's funny, we just had our second month of May ever without an EF3 or stronger tornado since recording began in 1950. Curious as to the other time it happened? 2021
I can't wait for the articles to start happening about how climate change is making there be less tornadoes just like they started pumping out about hurricanes before they ramped back up again
