Question for any plumbers on the OT

The faucet for my kitchen sink randomly has low water pressure and the water doesn't always get hot. The water pressure becomes lower after using the side sprayer and it begins to make a whistling sound. I've checked all of the connections and hoses, but everything seems to be intact. I've also unscrewed the end piece of the faucet to check for debris and it was clean. All of the other faucets in the house work properly. Could I have bigger problems than just a broken faucet?

Sounds like the cartridge needs to be replaced. What brand faucet? Moen?

It doesn't have any branding on it. It was probably the cheapest crap the builder could find.

This is often a sign that there is a water hammer building up under your slab
If you're reading this it may be too late, these things have been known to destroy city blocks

Check the aerator on the faucet as it may be plugged from debris from the dip tube going bad in your water heater.

Sometimes the flex lines from the pipes to the faucets have filters, try that.

Is there a water filter under the sink? I apparently had one I never knew about until it sprung a leak. Yeah it wasn't filtering much anymore. After I replaced the filter the cold water pressure was much better.

So. you are happy or still looking?

If it is not to difficult, switch the hot and cold lines feeding the mixer. Then see if the cold is diminished. Remember that the cold will now be the 'hot' on the faucet handle.
this will tell you if it is the faucet or something prior to the faucet like a supply line.

I had the same issue with my hot. After several years of use the little plastic piece inside the faucet broke loose. So when you turned on the water it floated up blocking the water. When I took it off and turned on the water it hit the ceiling. Changed out the faucet.
