You are making too literal a translation. The Maya did not HAVE horses.

There is a reason you see “Caballeros” on restroom doors. In context, it means “gentlemen.”

We went to a traditional mayan dinner cooked at a mayans home near merida. It was puerco pibil and everything was made how the ancient mayans use to do it

Sounds fun. I wonder what meat the Mayans originally used for the dish, since it was the Spaniards who brought pigs to this hemisphere. Wild peccary maybe?
