from what i can tell 0.00 to 4.00 ng/mL is the acceptable range

.94 in 2016
1.45 in 2018
1.57 in 2020

obviously i am still well within acceptable range but does this number increase as you get older?

anyone know how this works?

Yes it slowly increases

They will consider biopsy or MRI if there is a big jump from year to year usually

Fun fact: they biopsy your prostate through your arse

ok thank you. hoping for no big jumps in the future then as a biopsy doesn't sound like something that would be enjoyable for me.

I just had mine done Monday and it came back .41 and I’m 45. It was .38 last year and .40 in ‘18. My doc said rapid increases are not good and he quantified rapid with 50% a year.

Yes, the biopsy is through the arse. No sedation so the trauma stays fresh in your memory. The parting words of the staff is not to worry should you notice blood in your urine or stool.

You've got no problems with those numbers.

i guess i would have preferred not to see an increase but now that i know that is expected as i age and i am well within the acceptable range, i'm going to be thankful for the great result i just received.

That increase is completely insignificant. You could get tested tomorrow and it could be lower.

They will be glad to raid your wallet and fleece your insurance so they can do a biopsy you don’t need.

Mine has risen a little over the past 2 years. I’ve had 2 screenings, 2 mri, and 2 biopsy.
The last showed a small cancer growth of less than .25 of a inch. The doctor wants to see me in 6 months and well shall see. I’m fine with this.
