Or where….

We can do worse than Moore. In fact we certainly will once he’s out. The trend is for more progressive DA’s to replace the old competent ones. I can’t wait for that trend to go away too.

A big problem is that Baton Rouge has a handful of insane local judges (Trudy White for instance), but there are still some decent ones around. Better picture than New Orleans, where the DA and almost all the local judges are crazy.

The focus needs to be on BRPD. The chief needs to feel pressure on this one. Solve it.

And they need to stop pretending that BRPD is a small town force where bad leadership can slide. It’s a big city department and needs to be run by competent people.

She was the Chief Clerk to a 19th JDC Senior Judge for 20 years. The absolute BEST training one can get to be a Judge and what almost all Federal Judges have done at one time or another. Trying a case in Court as a Prosecutor or Defense Attorney has less to do with being a Judge than being the Clerk who researches and writes opinions for rulings and monitors procedure.

Seriously? You’re grasping at straws in vain. Because all I ever saw her do was stay in her back cubbyhole on her phone. The ONLY reason she got elected was because she was related to Moore. FACT. Let’s not pretend she was a clerk for a Supreme Court Justice.

And she did it for 20 years. 20 years! Most clerks do it for a couple of years and go get some real experience. Right when her Judge Erwin gravy train was going to end, then she runs for City Court judge with some powerful friends and family backing her.

Let’s not pretend she was some well known legal eagle and that’s why she won. She was a clerk that never tried a case. Best training ever? Just stop.

I started another thread with this info. If you want to do this, there are rules. If you follow them, they cannot stop you from talking. But there has to be an agenda item for it or they can and will stop you. The meeting was also moved weeks ago, so it has nothing to do with this murder. Agenda items have to be introduced at the meeting before they are on the actual agenda unless they are declared an emergency item. Here is what needs to happen:

If you want to have a voice and make this POS police chief and mayor answer some questions, you have to know the rules and how to play.

Email your council rep and demand they put an agenda item to discuss the state of crime in Baton Rouge. And demand they do it for every single meeting. If there is an agenda item, there is a public forum and they have to let anybody who wants to speak on the mic for 3 minutes.

Your council rep email address will be:

Council-dist1@brla.gov
Council-dist2@brla.gov
And so on

Metrocouncil@brla.gov goes to everyone

clerk…for senior judge…for yrs. something all Federal judges have done.

I don’t think DeGravelles and Dick trained as clerks for years before Obama appointed them to your US Court for the Middle District of Louisiana. DeGravelles was a plaintiff lawyer for decades.

I’m all for protesting against crime, but isn’t that area too dangerous?
