Play on demand webinars in the background all day...

Or read books such as good to great and that “counts.”
The only online PDU course I’ve taken is the Joseph Phillips Udemy course for 35 hrs. It was on sale for $8.99.

^ that.
Make sure you document every hour of practice, and every book you've read.
Also, make sure you document any training materials you've prepared, presentations given, etc. (that relate to project management.) There's a cap on those PDUs, but it helps to knock down the total hours you need.

It looks like I can claim 8 hours for working in project management, and I can try to claim some more hours for giving back, then listen to 40 hours of these webcasts.

You looking for PMP or SAFe Agile?

Buy the PM Prepcast exam simulator. Best $149 you’ll ever spend.

How strict is the audit if I were to apply to sit for the PMP?
Posted on 3/19/20 at 12:37 pm to dillpickleLSU
Baw...just join PMI for $120 or whatever it is. Once you join you can view free webinars on-demand at projectmanagement.com. No test at the end of them. They are all an hr long. The 60 PDU class will cost you a lot more.
Thank me later.
Edit: By the way, I'd never rely on you as a PM. You've had 35 f-ing months to knock out the 60 PDU's and you're just now worrying about it.

Its not bad if you have real PM experience over time. Documenting that is probably the hardest thing for most people. For me I've been managing O&G infrastructure projects for 20 years so it wasn't hard to document the PM hours they request you show.

I'm running the webinars in the background. I also entered my work experience to get 8 credits and giving back by teaching my department about scheduling for another 16 credits. So I'm 24 of those credits in and watched 3 webinars with one on deck right now....I'll make it in the 30 days easy!

I was audited immediately upon submission of my application. It’s not hard. Just put your buddy on the reference for whatever projects you use. It doesn’t have to be your boss. It has to be a “stakeholder” with intimate knowledge of your activities.

The hardest part about PMP certification is simply doing the formatting the way PMI wants on the application. The audit is simply your transcripts and signed letters from a “stakeholder” on your project.

In 5 years it will almost all be agile.

Lastly, anyone interested in becoming certified needs to get on it ASAP, because 30 JUN 2020 the test is changing to much more agile focused methodology. It’s a huge change and there isn’t any current study materials that’s I’m aware of.

I really didn't care about it to be honest. The certification is a b.s. money grab and participation trophy for all of the idiots without degrees. I just decided to renew because some see value in it.

You may want to look into an extension with PMI, given the circumstances.
