At about 11 a.m. on the Lenawee Mountain Lift, a man attempted to get off his chair atop the mountain but caught a snag when his backpack strap wedged into the side of the chair. He fell out of the bench, but the straps kept him attached by hanging him from the neck. The lift kept moving until the operator saw the struggling man and shut it down, and the man’s feet dangled precariously above the powder as he lost consciousness. Two close friends attempted to climb on top of each other to cut him down, but couldn’t find the footing. That’s when Wilson stepped in...

After aiding with the initial human pyramid rescue attempt, Wilson told The Denver Post he realized he could scale the chairlift’s tower and shimmy down the wire to the man—which is probably how James Bond feels when he tells M. to chill out because he’s about to casually save the world. Against the dissenting shouts of bystanders, who were unaware of Wilson’s ninja-like traits, Wilson climbed the tower, made his way down to the lift chair, caught the knife thrown to him by ski patrol on the first try, and cut the man down, saving his life.
