For fricks sake, using this logic we should all go find a tornado and stand in front of it

It’s not helping. It gets people worked up and they start talking about it at work, asking if they are going to get off. When most people wouldn’t even know anything is up.

You're right. Next time no one will say a word about it. Everyone will just let whatever happens happen.

Oh, wait......then people like you will bitch and cry and blame them for not giving warning or blowing it. I've seen this show before, spare me the same tired talking points.

Tornados happen all the time.

No, they don't.

It is a part of daily life.

No, it isn't.

Like I said, y’all assume people are safer at home.

They are certainly safer at home than driving.

Maybe they would actually be safer in a large building at work.

Possibly, but many won't stay there. That has been proven. It has also been proven, recently, that many "large buildings" aren't safer than a well-built home.

It’s not exactly clear that there is a benefit to cancelling everything.

There are merits to both approaches. However, if you believe that in the year 2022 that we will ever go back to putting that responsibility onto schools and school boards you just haven't been paying attention.

And fwiw, I’m not even really defending today - it was a bust for most of the moderate risk area,

People that fuss about “we didn’t do this blah blah blah ago” also fail to realize how much better we’re getting at modeling the weather.

Hmmmm

I think the problem is y’all aren’t as good as you think you are at these predictions and that is leading to the frustration.

Like it or not these threads definitely contribute to decisions being made. It spreads all over social media like a meme and people start asking questions at work days in advance. Then bosses are saying “well I don’t want to take a risk if all my employees are worried”. It spirals out of control quick.

There are probably 100 (or more) different outlets discussing this that are far more influential than a thread on the OT

Only 1? Tornadoes are apart of daily life rt, you can’t let one little direct hit bother you

I never took a Brock Lesnar F5... so I can't compare being in a real tornado vs. taking Lesnar's move

I think the problem is that you don't have near the understanding of weather forecasting and what it means as you believe you do. You're starting from a place that it is impossible to argue with. You do you, though.

Well, he did only get a degree to "practice" medicine. That's all they ever do is practice. Most of them are useless and terrible at their jobs....hence all the practice.

You keep saying this likes it’s a good analogy

People come to see me for help with a problem

I didn’t ask for help with a storm today yet school and appointments were cancelled.

The correct analogy is your primary care doctor forcing you against your will to get a colonoscopy.

Nah bruh, the only reason the news and government entities tasked with weather prediction were worried is some anonymous posters on the OT.

Poor, poor you. I feel so bad for you. If only you had lost everything you own today and had to deal with the deaths of friends and loved ones. I'm going to say this once, and I haven't said it in a while here, frick off.

Unpossible. That's in the Moderate Risk area........there can't be a tornado or severe weather in that area.
