I have peaced out with 20 cents left before.
My reasoning is I just drive more economical than usual for a few miles to offset it
And you don't have to pay cash. Sometimes the machines broke. I had this the other day in houston

I have 100% done exactly what you are saying... if the pump starts fling super slow and there is like $.25 to go, I've hung it up.

I get my money's worth. I make sure to get every last drop and then pat the hose a few times before I pull it out. Then I suck the fumes out of the nozzle and spit them into the tank.

I've had my card number stolen multiple times from using it at gas stations, be it inside or out.

Not only do I get every bit I paid for, I'll shake it off in the gas hole like I'm shaking my dick after a pee...often more than twice. I'm getting every drop.

I drive a lot for work and in different areas. Always seems to be small, shitty gas stations. But I've had it happen at larger places as well.
