Julia Cate Reed, a young girl from Sulphur was diagnosed with Leukemia very recently. There is a HUGE benefit for the Reed family this weekend at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Maplewood Dr in Sulphur. There are over 30 teams cooking gumbo for you to try, a washer tournament and silent and live auctions. Please come out and support Chuck and Jessica Reed and their family. All proceeds go to help with expenses for sweet Julia Cate.

I don't know anybody involved and won't be able to go to Sulphur. Is there a gofundme or other donation link that you know about?

My son had ALL about 13 years ago. Doing well today thanks to St. Jude
There's a special place in heaven for Pediatric Oncology medical professionals
There are lots of resources available to families of cancer kids.
I'm assuming she will go to Houston for treatment? or St. jude?

She’s going to Texas Children’s. She is only 3 years old. Please continue to pray for her.

She has been going to Texas Children’s Hospital for treatment. Her parents have looked into their options, and Texas Children’s is in the top three, and the difference between #1 and #3 in less than one percent, so they feel comfortable with that option. Also, given their proximity to Houston and the fact that one of her brothers already receives treatment for a heart condition at TCH, the family is planning to continue using that hospital.
Unfortunately, Julia Cate has the T-cell type of ALL, which is harder to treat. Her induction was a failure, and she is returning to TCH on Tuesday to begin a more aggressive treatment regimen.
Please, please, please come to the benefit tomorrow if you are able to do so. If not, please keep her in your prayers. She is a sweetheart of a little girl who just turned three, and we all love her so very much. Please also pray for her parents and siblings. Chuck and Jessica have been devastated by this recent news, and they could use all your positive thoughts and prayers. Not only that, but JC’s grandfather (Jess’s dad), just learned that he has cancer as well, so the whole family is really struggling right now.
Tigeralum, I will also pray for your son’s continued good health. He’s a warrior!

Chuck is the old mayor’s son, correct? Leslie’s little brother? Sending prayers.

Oh, I was there! We definitely felt the love! I was overwhelmed by the number of people who were there and by their generosity! Julia Cate is sitting in her Disney Benz car that Jason bought for her right now and is in such great spirits! Please continue to pray for her and her family as they begin this next phase of treatment.

Is there a gofundme or something similar set up?

God Bless her and the fam. There has been great advances in treating leukemia so hopefully she’s fortunate as well. My friends son was diagnosed at age 12. Had bone marrow transplant etc out in Seattle. He’s 26 now and perfectly healthy.

I know they have a account set up in her name at one of our local banks. I’ll do some digging and find out.

Man, that's a lot for a family to handle...especially an innocent 3yo battling for her life. Positive vibes incoming from ATL. Glad to hear the fundraiser was a success.
