no, but my son's first experience at the controls of an aircraft was in a 757, with 180 passengers in back, when he was 7 years old
ETA: ask to do it before takeoff, once we get to the gate after landing all we want to do is GTFO

How old are they?
My kid has done fine the 2 times he has flown, but I will definitely be paying for the extra ticket next time so I don't have to hold him the whole time.

Man, that's cool af.
They used to let me do that in the 80s & 90s. My folks are divorced & I flew as an unaccompanied minor since the age of 5 on from BTR to DFW multiple times a year. The stewardesses were always so nice.
The pilots would let me sit in the jump seat & even update passengers on stuff midflight.
No way they'd let that happen these days.

6 & 5. Our 10 year old has been up in the air a few times.

Oh they'll be just fine. Extra screen time and snacks and they will love it.

yeah, post 9/11 things have really tightened up, the Captain can get away with a few things but the situation has to be just right, you know, a good looking chick with big boobs is welcome in the cockpit but her boyfriend isn't, that sort of thing

Remember to give them something to chew or suck on during takeoff and landing so their ears don’t pop.

Do they still let 1st timer little flyers check out the cockpit or is that all gone thanks to Bin Laden?
My advice: Get them in their seats as quickly as you can and pop them with a dose of benedryl. Everyone around you will appreciate it.
Do NOT even mention the cockpit tour to the kids. If they don't do it anymore, they'll be whining and crying about it. If they do happen to do it, the kids will want to do it over and over, mid-flight and disturb everyone.

That’s a good way to get tackled by a US Marshall

My kids second flight at 4 & 6 years old was a 16 hour from LAX to Melbourne. The old grump we sat next to asked to be moved the minute we sat down....I thanked him for the extra room.
Not sure how long your flight is but the plethora of movies on the plane, iPads, coloring books and games kept them occupied. The unlimited snacks and attention from flight attendants also helped. Just don’t be a shitty parent and keep them busy and they shouldn’t act like little assholes.

Mine did and sat in the LH seat for a bit. It was a SWA flight.
