These new Hydrogen plants can be operated by less than 10 people. It really is an impressive design.

This is good for the younger generation to have these opportunities for jobs in either the construction process or long term mfg process.

Good news. Lotta of jobs during construction but those new airgas plants run a really small staff. Super efficient and controlled setting. Real cutting edge tech as far as hydrogen plants go. They're building another one over here in Texas too

Most of these SMR plants supply hydrogen to refineries for hydrotreating/hydrocracking. Unless the refinery they are supplying is building a new unit, chances are Praxair’s announcement means another company’s contract has not been renewed. In other words, it sounds like the opening of this Praxair site will coincide with the closing of an Air Liquide or Air Products site.
This happens more often than you would think, which is why these air separation/compressed gas companies try to skid-mount as much equipment as possible so they can pick it up and move it later.
As has been mentioned, these are pretty small plants that don’t require a lot of full-time staff. Most of the air separation companies pool maintenance and engineering staff between 5-10 different sites. It will bring in some construction work in the short term, though.
