Lump sum - federal taxes = 520 million dollars.

Divide that by the population of the USA, which is 322 million, and everyone would get $1.61. Or a bottle of water.

can't make a good point so you have to resort to name calling? we're talking billions, and last time i checked, 4 minus 3 was 1.

999 million dollars plus 1 million equals a billion.

Thus 1.3 billion is 1 billion+300 million

1.4 billion is 1 billion+400 million.

Some people just have no heart and don't want to see the good these millions can do for everyone in this country.

This must be common corp math because you aren't even remotely close.

when you start talking about astronomical amounts of money like billions, people start getting the math all confused i guess. all i know is, with 1.3 going up another billion, i can pay someone to do math for me LOL!

The Powerball went up 100 million, not another billion. $1.4 billion. There is a decimal in there, chief. If you added another billion, that would be $2.4 billion. Some people are terrible at simple math.

Why don't you explain it then genius. You and that Nado fool must have failed remedial common corp math.

A decimal is like the shorthand of a comma. Extra comma means extra billion.

1,300,000,000 to 1,400,000,000. Oh look, the one in the billions place stayed the same. Hence, still only 1 billion, 400 million, which is also abbreviated as $1.4 billion.

Go back to middle school math.

Young/old doesn't really concern me as much as the inability to calculate even the most elementary of math equations. I weep for this country.

I'm not sure that is right. Yes Oates, it is sad how dense this country has become.
