7 schools probably dismissing early. Traffic is already a nightmare.

Entergy says restoration at 2:30 hopefully sooner than that.

It also went out twice last night. I wonder what they're working on?
I read where DEMCO and Entergy are in a fight over who pays to move power lines, but I don't remember where those lines were located.

Power still in parking lot after Saturday night's game. Still trying to get back to Ascension.

Most certainly infrastructure improvements with the record profits & hurricane restoration fees they've been getting

Usually when "half" of something dies in residential electrical, it means one hot leg is down. This could be an issue at the transformer, the wiring to your meter, the meter itself, the wiring from the meter to your main panel, the main breaker or a fault within your panel.
It is pretty easy to test for, you're just looking for 240v at the service entrance. If you get 240v there, the issue is downstream in your house wiring. If not then it's likely a utility issue. Testing does however require testing live circuits.
This usually means that one phase of the incoming power is missing. The power company provides 2 phases each of 120 volts. By combining the phases you get 240 volts (used for electric ranges and driers), The rest of the house runs on one of the two phases. If half of the house is out then one phase is missing.

They're just getting you ready for the rolling blackouts when everyone converts to electric vehicles.

That actually is the reason we lost power last week or the week before in Central. They've been cleaning up around the lines down Hooper and Joor for almost a month now.

I've also heard this is the reason why the road work on HWY 930 between HWY 42 and Airline is delayed. They can't start the widening until the utility poles are moved and there is a dispute on who is responsible for moving the poles. Does anyone have any information on the widening for HWY 930.
They were pouring asphalt on 930 today between 42 and Prairieville middle but I know it isn't part of the main widening project.
ETA: The poles are located alongside the road. The trees/brush were cleared long ago and I'm pretty sure drainage is done.
