The fastest guy I’ve seen in intermediate, running around 1:56-57 lap times, gets around 8-10 track days out of tires because he’s just so smooth around the track. When I’m running fast I’m running on ragged edge.

A buddy of mine ran his Cayenne GTS in the beginner group. Even at relatively slow lap times, after a couple sessions his brakes overheated and he had to pull off.

PDK is just as engaging as a stick if your aim is to manage the engine's torque delivery. Plus the rev matching is awesome. If your goal is to play with a plastic and metal phallus, I feel your pain.

Do not even consider a vintage Italian supercar then lol.

The best "attainable" modern era italian imo is the F355, and from what I've read it's a substantial accomplishment to make it back to your garage whenever you muster up the courage to drive it.

Strongly agree to disagree....

Fist time I've heard liking to manual shift to be attributed to homosexuality, but ok.

Ayrton Senna was a magician at heel toe.
There is a video of him driving an NSX in loafers. Some of the shots show his feet while driving. That video is when I learned of heel/toe.

And then exhaust manifolds, valve guides, clutch, etc etc. They do sound sweet though. While the Blazer RS in the next lane runs right with it.

There's a reason they are "attainable". Much like BMW 7 and Merc S class cars resale takes a dive and can be picked up for peanuts. Maintenance will end up costing you more than the car.

Yea I see them for 70-80k and it’s nice to dream about until you remember you’ll be paying 70-80k in upkeep over 10 years lol

Do you track at Nola sports on Westbank?
Just curious
Your knowledge is impressive
My GTS has the lightweight package and a few other things vs the standard GTS.

That’s where all of my car track days have been - at the Open Track Days. I ditched my Vette for a Bronco last year because I’m doing a lot of traveling to catch snakes, so I’m on a break from the track for a while.

But the Open Track Days are nice at NOLA - they divide into 3 skill levels, and each group gets 5 sessions, with each session being 30 minutes long. And each group has a different set of rules.
