Hmm idk, why don't they do whatever they do the 1000's of other times this has happened.

There's been plenty times in the past someone bunkers down with a gun and they deal with it without completely destroying the house.

There's also plenty of times where shite goes down and the house is destroyed. The article clearly states that they tried to send a team in to get him, and he started shooting at them. They also cut off electricity and water and waited over night. It's not unheard of for a house or building to be damaged or destroyed after a standoff like this. How do you know that they didn't do everything reasonably possible to catch the guy without destroying the house before making the decision to destroy it?
