We got there at 11 and there were small lines. When we left at 2:30, the lines were very long. Black's from Abbeville had the only traditional ouster and shrimp. The Shrimp Bhan'mi from the Pho place was on point. Social gumbo poboy was good. The Deano's pizza burger was just ridiculous. Pop's delivered as always.

I'm shocked Darrel's backed out and you know Olde Tyme was just butt hurt that the Pop's people put this together.

I talked to a few organizers. They didn't expect the turn out. Next year, it'll be even bigger. The weather was perfect.

Yeah, I was there from like 11:15-2 oclock. I think next year they may need to spread out the tents a bit more. The lines were getting really crowded.

Wasn't Olde Tyme's excuse that they had a wedding to cater?

I ate so much I can't breath

I finished with a hot hot from pops and I almost cried. Had to go to carpe diem for gelato to take the burn away

Very strange that Darrells backed out, and I'm upset I missed out on the gumbo Poboy. I got there kinda late.

Yeah, seems like way more people showed up than what they were expecting for the first year. People of Lafayette do show up for food festivals. Seems like all food vendors ran out and had to send for more. Everything I had was good. I don't see the love for Darrel's. It's pretty good, but not near the best ever.

I got there a little after 4 pm, so most places were already sold out, and the few places left had long lines. I went to Pho's and grabbed a pork poboy because they had the shortest line. Meh. But, I was hungry.

I stuck around for the "World's Longest Poboy." It was dressed with Blue Plate Mayonnaise, creole mustard, lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, and seasoned with Tony Cacherie's and a spicy link of Rouse's sausage. Not bad for a free taste of the world record and a draft beer to wash it down.

Music was good, with a second line brass band to close it out.

Seemed like a great turnout. I hope the festival becomes an annual event.

I honestly didn't see a single affliction shirt. And this board should know that I'm the first to hate on Laffy for that shite.

That sounds pretty cool. I can't imagine they wouldn't want to continue this. It was a huge hit.

My parents went to the festival. They went to Lafayette one year for Tech and ULL game and they fell in love.

Your parents sound like solid people.

I like Chris' roast beef poboy. Dix has a surprisingly good shrimp poboy as well.
