I have stayed at both a bed and breakfast and also the Dahlonega Square Hotel and Villas.

The hotel is one block off the square and is a great place - updated with keylessy entry.
They can walk from the hotel to the square for restaurants and shopping.
T and D stayed at Smith House when they got married.

The B and B we stayed at is not on the current B and B list. Google B and B's for Dahlonega. They all look like good places to stay. All are out in the woods and very quiet and peaceful.

Also, we highly recommend going to local wineries.
We have only visited one so far - Montaluce - excellent and a wonderful place for lunch or dinner.
K and I keep trying to plan another visit.
I have been twice - wonderful and luxurious and it overlooks the vineyards.

For restaurants on the square, we recommend Bourbon Street Bar and Grille, Back Porch, Smith House and then Crimson Moon for breakfast.

Great shopping around the square.

Great place for a relaxing weekend.
