Makes no sense to me. Can charter a business jet as needed for so much less
That particular model didn’t cost 4-5 mil. It was probably closer to $1 mil and it appears to have been a partnership.

For a twin turboprop. The annual figure is on the low end.

Is it better to own the plane, own the maintenance and direct hire the pilot or participate in a plane on demand service and they own the planes, maintenance and the pilots?

Yes he did but the first thing he said was, “ I gotta go see coach about that”

Man, I can’t imagine what was going through his mind. He obviously knew exactly who they were talking about and no doubt knew her personally

I guess it depends on how much you fly. If you fly once a month then definitely not. If you fly twice a week then maybe. It’s really hard to financially justify owning a personal plane. It’s absolutely a luxury item. But then again chartering a jet isn’t really financially justifiable either. It’s a convenience you pay for. For the vast majority of people that have the money chartering is probably cheaper but some people just really love having their own plane. And you can take it whenever you want. Sometimes when chartering you have compete against other customers for scheduling conflicts.

I can imagine the maintenance is a small fortune for sure.

$4-$5M for a new one....no wonder most have small planes that are 30-40 years old

Calm down sally. I don’t give a frick if this guy owns seven yachts and four jets or none of the above. I was simply stating what that particular plane probably goes for.

This was a corporate plane for GDS

the owners had use of it for personal use

The LLC address is the GDS Office

Then I’m sure they were able to write a lot of the costs off. Either way, this probably isn’t the thread to discuss the merits of owning a personal or corporate plane.
