Come on bro.. She is a pizza delivery person. She might have thought it was funny, did it thinking it was going to someone who would think it was funny (since it was requested to go to them).
What if the kid would have ordered some flowers for his mom and told the flower place he wanted that joke on the flowers, he is paying for? A customer calls, orders a pizza, request a joke be written on the the pizza box or wherever.. I doubt she thought "okay, the customer asked for this, but what if I actually bring this to some mom.. Will she be pissed that her son requested this and then try to have me fired?"

They ordered the pizza online. It's completely anonymous. It's just stupid to assume everyone will find the joke to be in good taste. (see what I did there?

Mom probably thought the joker was referencing HER with the "can smell it" line.
