20 years ago I delivered for Papa Johns (Store #420 ) and they paid $6.50/hr plus tips, and gas was only $1.25-$1.50. Probably $40-60 in tips per night average. It paid really well, for 20 years ago.

What is it like today, if I wanted to get back in the business?

I delivered for Pluckers in college. I'd work 2 nights a week and make about 300 a week. We'd get paid min wage, a dollar a delivery, and tips. Great spending money for a college kid. If you wanted to work harder, plenty of money in it. Just looooooong hours since they closed at 2 on weeknights and 3 on weekends.

I’m not a pizza driver but I do work in that industry and let me tell you. Women love a man on skates

Why did you feel the need to point out he's black?

What does that have to do with anything?

I delivered a long time ago. We got min wage in the store and less than 5 on delivery. Then we got about a dollar per delivery for gas and wear and tear on the car.

You’d assume 3-5 dollars a delivery, including the extra buck. Because even though some people would stuff you, some would give you 5 bucks.

The biggest enemy is a slow night and too many drivers. Not shitty tippers.

Anyway, 40-50 on a weeknight, usually 70-90 on weekends.

Not something you could do as your only job unless you were a mgr working 60 hour weeks.

And the delivery charge does not go to the driver!

I did it in Algiers for a few weeks in 2004.

I think I was making $7/hr plus tips.

I refused to wear the uniform.or place a car topper, for obvious reasons.

Same thing 35 years ago when minimum wage was $3.35, you could average $8. I imagine it still pays pretty good.

I delivered pizza and Chinese food in college. I made more money delivering Chinese food because the orders were bigger, and thus so were the bills and tips.

When I delivered for Dominos about 15 years ago, I made appx $100/nt on the weekends and $30-$50/nt during the week, plus about $200 a week in base pay. For a dude straight out of high school, it’s pretty awesome pay for those days.

That’s cool. I was just about to ask if you know any black guys that have casual encounters while delivering pizza.

Becuase if he didn't, I would've pictured a white guy, which wouldn't be accurate. Of all the stupid shite to cry about...
