If this were real life and somebody made a choice to save their dog over my kid then that person would die. I can't be more serious. Bullet to the head and I believe there's not a jury in the US that would convict me for that.

First off, you wouldn't. Second, every jury would convict you.

quote:

Great example of the pussification of America. Fluffy, Rex, Fido has no idea it will die. It cannot compute it's existence in history. It has not invented anything and is selfish in nature. It's an animal. Again, saying you'd watch a little kid die while saying you'd rescue a dog first should speak plenty about you.

I'm a pussy because I would choose to save something I have a deep bond with over something I don't? That might be the stretch of the year.

There is a ton of stupid ITT. Probably a racist or two as well.

I've asked this before whenever these "incidents" happen and never had a pit owner/supporter answer. What does a pit offer in companionship that another breed can't? You know a breed that if it does attack someone is FAR less likely to end in death.

There isn't a good answer to that. Nobody needs a pit bull really. But that viciousness is also great home protection

Imagine the slidell shooting if that guy had a pit bull. He could have let the dog take the wrap

They are guard dogs. They protect their home and owners, probably more fiercely than most other breeds.

Dogs are similar to tools in that there is a right breed for the job you want it to do.

When you get a dog you need to do a ton of homework on the breed you are getting and what you want in a dog. There are FAR to many irresponsible people taking care of lives they should not be responsible for. Both dogs and children.

If you can't rationalize the difference between an animal and a human then I don't know what to tell you. I don't know the kids that were killed and attacked, just seems fricked not to help a little kid out, shipmate.

I don't obsess over dogs. Couldn't care less - they could all rot for all I care.

And how does the highlighted portion of that quote dispute the fact that Pitt bulls make up a good percentage of dog-related injuries and deaths each year?

I'm not a pit bull advocate but I encounter them with some regularity and have never seen one get aggressive in any form.

Of course, I hang out at dog parks attended by responsible people, at friends' houses, etc., not in shitty ghettoes south of I-20.

Yep. My pit goes straight to greet people at the dog park. She used to sleep with my roommates daughter when she'd stay over. But I also busted my arse to socialize her to avoid any problems. Give a hood rat or country trash a golden retriever, and they'd be attacking people just the same.

But I'll also add this. After spending a couple weeks at a motel 6 in Arkansas, waiting for my apartment to be ready, one thing was consistent. Every piece of shite staying there, asked me about my dog. Some dumb cracker even yelled across the parking lot, asking if she was for sale. That was the craziest shite I've ever heard.

A pit is like a ticking time bomb. Nice and comforting until it explodes.
Just a question of who gets blown up; its idiot owner or some innocent.

Well last weekend these couple of pits came on my land who were hog dogs from a lease a half mile away from my land. I had warned these Orleans parish douchebags not to let their dogs on my land

It happened again and I dispatched the animals and dumped them in their club driveway the next morning.

I don't understand how why it is so difficult to keep these dogs locked up.

I don't understand why they don't kill these breeds so they can never break loose and kill kids again!

FIFY!

When you total up pros and cons for some breeds, there are no winners. And the losers are the dead children.
