Ping G or Calloway Steelhead XR irons

Haven't played golf much in the last few years and want to start playing 3-4 times a month again. I currently have an old set of Calloway X-18's, but I have heard the newer irons are much better. Hit a few different brands at Pga superstore and I really liked both of these, but I am not sure which ones to get.
Any advice?

Are the Ping G irons as forgiving as the driver? I was looking at some the other day.

I just bought a set of Ping G irons and I really like them so far. I was hitting a set of Ping isi irons before I bought these. I spent a few months hitting on a few simulators with all of the new clubs. Theses were the most comfortable.

I really like the Pings. They'll be my next set of irons unless I find something I hit better and feels as good.
For you, go with what you hit consistently better shots. That requires some range time a few buckets.

I'm still playing x18R's as well. I hit them pretty well so I can't bring myself to drop the money on a new set. I want a set of Pings though.
