So, you’re saying it would be angry sex. Probably made Desi rant like a Cuban political prisoner while he was getting after it.

B-17…one tough old bird…
I’ve read of two separate incidents from 1944 or 1945 where a bomber like this was badly damaged and the crew bailed out. Both times the aircraft eventually “landed” in a field somewhere in Northern Europe relatively in one piece…and no one on board. That one looks like it took a hit from the propeller of another aircraft.

Dad and his friends were in their early teens living in the Mengel Log Camp near Basin, MS back during the war when they watched a collision between a P-51 and. B-17 occur overhead. The Mustang’s pilot ejected, as did most of the crew of the B-17. The rear section of the B-17 was severed from the rest of the aircraft and crashed into the swamp near the confluence of Whites Creek and the Pascagoula River. Dad and his friends went looking for it… and found it just as the MPs were cleaning up around the crash site. Two MPs were carrying a body bag and another followed carrying the head of the tail gunner who was killed in the collision.
That was one memory Dad said he wished he never had. He was thirteen or fourteen at the time.

The fact there are 6 people in the photo really drives home the team name.
