Diego Rivera working on his mural for Rockefeller Center, 1933.



Partway through the painting, the Rockefellers discovered that Rivera had included a portrait of Lenin, holding hands with workers of different races. They were furious - they fired Rivera, paid him his full fee, and destroyed the mural.

Today of course, they'd insist Lenin be included in the mural, along with George Floyd.

Look at the style and compare it to the art being made in the Soviet Union around the same time. Very similar. Then think back to your days as a student at LSU and sitting in the corridor of O.K. Allen Hall and seeing the murals on the walls there that were painted around the same time by WPA/CCC artists paid by the US government under the FDR administration. It's very telling.

I’ve literally been seeing that photo for over 60 years every time someone says tactical field artillery nukes. There must be another photo of that weapon blowing something up.
